St Vincent’s Virtual Care Unit Recognised as Exemplar by Ministry of Health

29 Jul 2021

Congratulations to St Vincent’s Virtual Care team who have been recognised by the Ministry of Health Virtual Care Accelerator and the Agency of Clinical Innovation (ACI) as an exemplar in virtual care, as a result of our COVID-19 response and the rapid establishment of our Virtual Care Unit.

As one of just four services across the state profiled in the ‘Spotlight on Virtual Care’ report, the unit is presented as a prominent example of innovation and leadership in virtual health care delivery across NSW, and as a model for other health services in their development of local models of virtual care.

“The rapid establishment of our Virtual Care Unit as part of our COVID response, taught us a great deal about our patients, our clinicians and our services. It is great to be given the opportunity to share our learnings with our peers in building their own models of virtual care” says Dr Christopher Robinson, Director of Innovation and Improvement.

As part of this recognition, the Virtual Care Unit has also secured support to further develop our virtual care services into the future, including additional funding and non-financial support through a facilitated workshop focusing on model of care design and process improvement.

Congratulations team!
