Important REGIS Update - 29 August 2018

Extended Soft Launch Period

The NSW Health Human Research Ethics and Governance information System (REGIS) commenced soft-launch implementation 12 February 2018.

Full launch of REGIS was anticipated to open to all new applications from 16 April, however the soft launch period has been extended to allow further refinement of research office related workflows within the system and development of Quick Reference Guides (QRGs) to support Users.

During the extended soft-launch period, new applications for local, single centre projects will continue to be received through REGIS for the sites listed below as per local advice. All other projects should continue to be submitted utilising Online Forms, as is the case now.

As of 26 March, the following Public Health Organisations within the ACT and NSW are receiving local, single centre ethics (HREA) and site-governance (SSA) applications via REGIS:

  • ACT Health (ethics only)
  • South Eastern Sydney Local Health District
  • Hunter New England Local Health District
  • South Western Sydney Local Health District
  • Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District
  • St Vincent's Health Network
  • Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network
  • Sydney Local Health District
  • Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District
  • The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network
  • Northern New South Wales Local Health District
  • Western New South Wales Local Health District
  • Western Sydney Local Health District

Central Coast Local Health District, NSW Ambulance, NSW Health Pathology, NSW Population and Health Service HREC (PHSREC) and Northern Sydney Local Health District are scheduled to commence in coming weeks.

The revised date for full launch of REGIS will be announced as soon as possible and arrangements for the transition from submission via Online Forms confirmed.
