Brand new SBS docuseries at St Vincent's

26 Jun 2023

St Vincent’s have wrapped-up on filming a brand new docuseries focusing exclusively on St Vincent’s frontliners, to be broadcast on SBS.

Filming recently took place across Darlinghurst campus over the course of a month capturing some of the hospital’s broad endeavours, as well as featuring some of our flagship services.

Hosted by three Australian television celebrities - actor and philanthropist Samuel Johnson; Masterchef presenter and journalist, Melissa Leong; and Gardening Australia presenter, Costa Georgiadis, who were given all-access to key members of our teams to observe them in their daily challenges and successes, including homeless health, drug and alcohol, mental health, heart lung transplantation, neurology and palliative care.

On close of filming the film crew reflected on their experience here at St Vincent’s.

“Your hospital brought us to tears of both heartache and joy, then wiped them from our eyes.  You pushed our minds to the limit, then guided us to a place of calm.  You broke our hearts, then fixed them.  Thank you for the most extraordinary experience.  We feel very privileged being able to tell this story”.

Three 1 hour episodes are due to be screened in early 2024.
