Vaccination Hub Ramps Up

Vaccination Hub Ramps Up

28 Apr 2021

St Vincent’s vaccination hub has rapidly expanded and is now operating as a dual Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccination clinic.

With ample supply of both vaccines the team are ready to vaccinate all St Vincent’s staff, clinical and non-clinical, as well as our Campus partners and colleagues. So far just under half of the SVHNS team, approximately 1,900 staff have taken their first dose, and with new capacity to vaccinate up to 250 staff every day, staff are able to book in via invitation, or simply drop-in.

The vaccination hub is an important milestone in St Vincent’s COVID response and having as many staff vaccinated as practicable, will be instrumental in keeping each other, our patients and our community safe.

Kurtis Waho, ICU Nurse and Vaccination Hub Manager added, “It’s important to remember that while the vaccine decreases the possibility of transmitting COVID-19, it’s not a silver bullet. It’s so important to remain vigilant, practise good hand hygiene, keep physically distanced where possible and follow public health advice”.
