Course overview:

The official course of the AAFPS, this course is open to all practising ENT and Plastics surgeons seeking to advance their facial plastic surgery skills.

The program combines lectures and dissection sessions, with mornings focused on surgical approaches and afternoons dedicated to refinement techniques.

Speakers:

George Marcells is a past President of the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgeons and director of Bondi Junction Private Hospital. He is a US board exam certified facial plastic surgeon and has extensive experience in rhinoplasty. 
 
Sim Choroomi is a Sydney based facial plastic surgeon with American Board training based in Los Angeles with a research focus on rhinoplastic techniques. 
 
A/Prof Catherine Meller is a facial plastic trained ENT surgeon with an expertise in functional and aesthetic disorders of the facial, facial muscles and nose.

Prof Richard Harvey is a dedicated Rhinologist and international speaker in disorders of the nose, sinus and nasal breathing. He has expertise in difficult and revision rhinoplasty works and has published research in the field. He is the current president of the AAFPS.

Dr Phil Jumeau is an Australian trained and qualified ENT, Head and Neck Surgeon.  After over 15 years of generalist ENT practice with a sub specialist interest in rhinoplasty, Dr Jumeau now works solely within the field of nasal reconstruction.

All members of the faculty have wide experience in the management of cosmetic and functional nasal surgery including rhinoplasty techniques. They are actively involved in teaching and research.

    • Anatomy and anatomical variations relevant to rhinoplastic surgery.
    • Instrumentation required in rhinoplasty.
    • Preparation and pre-op planning.
    •  Facial aesthetics/Photography.
    • Preservation and open structured rhinoplasty techniques.
    • Supportive surgery of the nose including septal extension grafting, tensioning of the nasal valve, articulating rim grafts and alar base reduction.
    • Identification of functional pitfalls in rhinoplasty.
    • Post-operative care and management.
