X10N is made up of 27 sub-acute Cardiology beds which admit patients accepted under the care of heart failure consultants or cardiologist from ED, the Heart Lung Clinic or Interventional Cardiology. On 10 North you will learn how to manage the care of patients with inotropic infusion, chest pain (including the administration of intravenous morphine and nitrates), preparation of patients for cardiac transplant, pre and post angiogram management, ventricular assist device (VAD) and exacerbation of heart failure. There is also a 6 bed acute coronary care unit that cares for high risk cardiology and heart failure patients.
