Course overview:

This workshop provides the opportunity for participants to practice and demonstrate their clinical skill in pleural drain management, dressing change and removal.

Speakers:

Lead by CNC respiratory & CNE Cardiothoracic


Key topics:

On completion of this workshop,  it is anticipated that participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate understanding of intra-pleural pressure and the conditions that affect this requiring pleural drain insertion
  • Identify different types of pleural drains and their purpose
  • Develop an understanding of underwater seal drain observations and their characteristics, to confidently interpret their observations and document correctly
  • Develop awareness of the daily management of a patient with a pleural drain
  • Demonstrate ability to remove pleural drain safely

Cancellation provided up to 5 working days before the program a full refund will be issued.
Cancellation past the 5 working days and before 24 hours prior to the program half refund will be issued.
Cancellation with 24hrs prior to the program no refund is issued.
