The St Vincent’s Darlinghurst Campus Environmental Services Department provides the cleaning services for St Vincent’s Public Hospital, St Vincent’s Private Hospital, St Vincent’s Clinic, The Sacred Heart Health Service and other Darlinghurst precinct partners, such as The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Centre.

Environmental Services strives to ensure that we deliver the best patient care possible through the highest level of cleanliness and customer service.

We clean and maintain all clinical and non-clinical areas for patients, guests and staff. Environmental Services is also responsible for the provision of all linen services, internal and external mailroom services, and oversees waste management within our campus.

The Environmental Services Department prides itself on sustainability within our organisation. We recycle a range of waste streams, such as paper/cardboard, plastics, batteries, energy saving lights, toners and cartridges and much more in order to reduce our environmental footprint.

St Vincent’s Hospital is committed to its sustainability program and recycles more than 165 tonnes of paper and cardboard, 430 tonnes of organic food waste, plastic, tins, and other co-mingle waste items and 7 tonnes of sterile wrap per year.

We clean over 366 patient rooms and clinical work areas, public areas, and staff facilities every day of the year.

The security department provides a safe and secure environment for the benefit of staff, patients and visitors. Security officers patrol the premises, escort staff and visitors and are part of the Hospital’s incident response group that manage the Hospital’s emergencies.

We use electronic security technology including access control; CCTV and duress systems to monitor the campus for your wellbeing and uniformed security officers are available on-site at all times to provide you with assistance.
