Information about COVID-19

St Vincent's is working closely with NSW Health to help keep our patients, visitors and staff safe. Our hospital remains open, with the appropriate safeguards and containment precautions in place.

Information for visitors

St Vincent's is introducing new visitor restrictions to protect patients and staff from the spread of COVID-19.

Commencing Thursday 30th July, visitors will be limited to one nominated visitor per patient per day, between 11am-12pm or 5pm-6pm.

Exemptions may be made on compassionate grounds.

We understand this is difficult for loved ones, but the safety of our patients, staff and community is our highest priority. Please consider staying in touch with loved ones via phone and/or face-time.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

As a condition of entry into any of our facilities, including St Vincent's Hospital; Sacred Heart Health Service; The O'Brien Centre; and the Kinghorn Cancer Centre, all visitors must:

  • Wear a mask
  • Use the hand sanitiser provided
  • Maintain 1.5 metre physical distance between yourself and others at all times.

Patients and clients presenting directly to our health service from the community, will be required to wear a mask if possible.

All Health care workers and staff are required to wear a surgical mask, if they are within 1.5m of any patient.

Please watch the below video for information on how to wear a mask.

Please do not visit any of our facilities if you have a fever, cough, sore throat or shortness of breath; or have visited the following areas:
  • Victoria within the last 14 days
  • Overseas within the last 14 days
  •  Any of COVID-19 hot-spot locations. For a list of these locations, Please click here .
