Early Drug Diversion Initiative (EDDI)

From February 29, 2024, the St Vincent’s Alcohol and Drug Service will be providing the health support for the Early Drug Diversion Initiative (EDDI).

What is EDDI?

The Early Drug Diversion Initiative (EDDI) is a diversion program that provides on the spot fines and free health support for low-level drug offences. This is instead of going to court.

What do we provide?

We offer FREE counselling and education through a phone call. Our Alcohol and Other Drug health professional during this session will:

  • Conduct a confidential drug health assessment to evaluate drug use levels and associated risks.
  • Provide education on harm reduction and drug safety, promote lifestyle changes and offer resources for additional support.

If clients are interested in engaging with further Drug and Alcohol service, we can offer referrals to local alcohol and drug treatment services.
