About Us

The Inner City Health Program (ICHP) at St Vincent’s Hospital Darlinghurst runs a coping skills group based on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

DBT is an evidence based psychological therapy for people with pervasive emotion dysregulation and associated problem behaviours, including suicidality and self-harm.

This skills group is one component of a person’s overall mental health treatment.

Group participation involves attendance at weekly, 2.5hr group sessions for 16 weeks.

Regular attendance, motivation to undergo treatment for problematic behaviours, and access to individual treatment sessions in order to consolidate the learning, are important.
