About Us

Clinical Psychology Pain Clinic

The Clinical Psychology Pain Clinic provides individual psychological support towards the goals of the group program, including clarification of educational information, further practice of skills and to provide further feedback. Individual sessions may also target the barriers that may affect the effectiveness of implementing pain management strategies, such as depression, anxiety, adjustment and anger.

Reboot Pain Management Program

Reboot is a multidisciplinary treatment approach to chronic pain. The team includes a pain specialist, clinical psychologist, physiotherapist and occupational therapist. It is a 10-week self-management program; it runs for 6 hours per day, one day per week. The main aims are to provide education about persistent pain, and to improve the participant’s functional ability and emotional wellbeing despite ongoing pain.

Reboot Online

The Reboot Online Program is a collaboration between the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD). For more information visit This Way Up (https://thiswayup.org.au/how-we-can-help/courses/chronic-pain/).

Referrals

Referrals for clinical psychology services are only made by the Pain Staff Specialist from the SVH Pain Clinic. GPs can refer patients to the SVH Pain Clinic, outlining the patient’s pain history and highlighting the patient’s need for clinical psychology services.
