About Us

The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Neuropsychology service provides an area wide service for HIV positive clients treated by St Vincent’s Hospital, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (including Prince of Wales and St George Hospitals), and HIV prescribing doctors.

Services provided include neuropsychological assessment as well as counselling and support for HIV positive individuals with cognitive impairment and their carers, in order to assist them in coping with cognitive impairments, or emotional/behavioural difficulties associated with cognitive impairment. As a specialist HIV service, consultancy and educational services are also available.

There are no charges for the services provided.

Referrals

Referrals can be accepted from HIV team members and medical practitioners caring for HIV positive individuals (e.g. HIV specialists, GPs, psychiatrists) anywhere in SVHN/SESLHD, including from hospital, community and general practice settings.
